Earth Angel Reserve

Location

Jefferson Park, Los Angeles

Urban Park. Wellness Center. Cultural Arts Center.

Civic and Landscape Architecture

The Earth Angel Reserve is a transformative initiative in the heart of Jefferson Park, Los Angeles. Located on the Murphy Drill Site, this project aspires to create a sustainable urban park, a cultural arts center, and a holistic wellness center. We aim to set a model for sustainable urban development and environmental restoration, setting a precedent for similar initiatives for the Green New Deal.
The primary objective is the comprehensive cleanup and ecological restoration of the former oil drill site. This involves soil remediation, biodiversity restoration, and the development of sustainable land use practices.
The reserve will become a hub for community health and wellness, offering spaces for physical fitness, and mental well-being.
The project aims to foster creativity and cultural enrichment by establishing a cultural arts center. It will provide a platform for local artists, musicians, and performers to showcase their talents and engage the community in a vibrant exchange of ideas and creativity.
Central to the success of Earth Angel Reserve is active community involvement. The project will initiate a community-driven campaign to encourage local residents to actively participate in the planning, design, and implementation of the reserve.
Collaboration is a fundamental principle, we aim to work hand-in-hand with local artists, cultural leaders, environmental experts, and community members to co-create the Earth Angel Reserve. This approach ensures that the reserve is not just designed for the community but by the community, fostering a sense of ownership and pride.
